MediaMonks

At MediaMonks, I function as a multi-disciplined creative, primarily working on experiences and concepts. Leading projects from end to end: Pitching, conceptualising, design sprints, UX, UI, and finally testing & delivery. Projects vary from designing for big platform builds to experimental webGL, AR, VR, and even the occasional physical experience. As a client-facing creative I’ve also had the privilege to work with brands such as Evian, Kia, and Procter & Gamble, just to name a few.

MediaMonks has let me embrace all sides of myself as a creative and realise diversity in skillset is a celebration of talent.

River, The Agency

As part of my Hyper Island graduation requirement, I joined the fantastic team at River in Stockholm, Sweden as a Digital and UX designer. In the three month stint, I touched on a variety of projects: websites, product, strategy, UX and had the pleasure of working with brands such as Klarna, Norrsken Foundation and SF Films.

Hyper Island

Once referred to as digital Harvard, and CNN’s one of the “most interesting schools around the world”, Hyper Island is known for their non-traditional teaching methods. Championing cutting edge digital technology with a unique blend of soft skills, a unique education experience found nowhere else.

At Hyper Island Stockholm, I attended the Design Lead programme, previously known as the Interactive Art Director programme, one of the most sought-after programme in the school. Creatives are only eligible for the programme with adequate work experience and validated through a series of interviews and tests.

Alongside lecture-led classes, teams are matched with actual businesses who pay for our time to solve real business problems. Notable clients include Blocket, one of Sweden’s largest online marketplace and SBAB, a local mortgage bank.

In-between leaving Singapore to pursue Hyper Island in Stockholm, I left my previous position at Tribal to freelance as an art director for various companies. Companies include Bonsey Jaden, gyro, Adludio and more.

My time at Tribal as an integrated art director was mainly spent pitching for new business and working on retainer accounts—Volkswagen and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth of Singapore (MCCY). My time on these projects was mainly spent art directing concepts and crafting key visuals.

Arcade Agency

2015 – 2017

Starting as an intern, I worked my way up to a junior art director and eventually a mid-weight art director. The founders of Arcade had the utmost trust in me and I was given the responsibility to lead and run many projects for world-renowned brands in the APAC region like Heineken, Airbnb, and Shiseido just to name a few.

I oversaw projects as the only creative from pitch to fruition, whether is it AR, building an actual house, spawning mutants, or making weird robots. I got the opportunity to explore my width; pixel pushing, sitting with directors, managing quality control across all outputs, directing voiceovers and even doing some myself. I learned to trust my design instincts during my time at Arcade and not to settle for anything less.
